10 Announced Video Games We Haven't Heard From In AGES
2. Metroid Prime 4
The fourth entry in the Metroid Prime franchise was announced back at E3 2017, and has gone on to have a somewhat complicated development since then by all accounts. Originally, and surprisingly, the game was not being developed by Retro Studios, who had developed the first three entries, but instead by Bandai Namco studios- including the staff that had been working on the sadly cancelled Star Wars 1313.
However, after several quiet years as far as the game was concerned, it was announced that Retro games would in fact be taking over development of the game with the previous work done not meeting 'Nintendo's standards' apparently.
Metroid is often held up as one of Nintendo's biggest properties and draws, as such, excitement was understandably building over the last few years, but that excitement has certainly been dampened somewhat.
Retro Studios, based off the first three entries, would of course appear to be the correct choice to continue development of the game but, with no more news concerning the game since this announcement, it has undoubtedly hurt the hype surrounding Nintendo's up-coming fourth instalment.
