10 Announcements We Desperately Want To Hear At E3

9. Nintendo's Strategy Moving Forward

After the meteoric success of the Wii, Nintendo has began to suffer tremendously with the Wii U, a console that's struggling to shift units and is quickly being surpassed by its technologically superior brethren, the PS4 and Xbox One. There has been much discussion recently about the possibility of Nintendo scrapping the platform altogether, or perhaps releasing some sort of stop-gap hardware update that better allows it to compete with its rivals, though Nintendo has been quick to deny that they would be dropping any new hardware at this year's E3. As a result, it's important for Nintendo to restore consumer and developer confidence at E3, and though they won't be hosting a press briefing this year, they should make good use of their planned "digital event" to give gamers a reason to buy the Wii U, and present a clear strategy moving forward. We need new IPs, reveals and release dates for long-awaited games (which we'll get into more later), price drops and maybe even a gamepad-free version of the console. Above all this, they just need to do something rather than continue to flail around.
