10 Annoying Side-Kicks Who Almost Spoiled Great Games

2. Slippy Toad - Star Fox

The cack-handed toad may have had his value to the Star Fox team - and he must have, otherwise the recruitment drive that saw him added should have been counted an unmitigated disaster, and the warty fellow been stripped of his pilot wings immediately. Because there is no way, judging by his conduct in Star Fox 64 in particular, that he is worthy of his position on the team for any other fathomable reasons. I get that each team needs some sort of comedic element for pleasant balance, but when the moron jeopardises every mission with his embarrassing lack of piloting abilities, and his knack for almost getting himself killed that comedy is no longer welcome. What's worse is Slippy has a massively powerful ship beneath him, with the same capabilities as the player's own, and yet play is far too regularly interrupted by his grating, high-pitched screams for help. Slippy is little more than cannon-fodder in a game featuring some interesting characters, and he's lucky not to feature higher on this list.
