10 Anticipated Video Games FINALLY Releasing In 2022

Bayonetta is an action-adventure game by PlatinumGames, which follows an Umbra witch caught in a battle between angels and demons. Using her oversized swords and gun-toting high heels, our eponymous heroine must travel to Heaven and Hell to bring balance to the universe. When the original Bayonetta was released in 2009, it was praised for its balls-out action, witty dialogue, and epic scale.

However, 2014's Bayonetta 2 elevated everything that made its predecessor special, and is now regarded as one of the best hack-and-slash games ever. The sequel was so good, there was no way the developers weren't going to make another.

But apart from a bland teaser in 2017, all we got from PlatinumGames was crickets.

But in one of the final announcements in 2021's Nintendo Direct, we saw a teaser depicting soldiers battling a giant monster. At first, viewers couldn't figure out if the footage was for a franchise or a brand-new game.

But upon hearing that distinctive winding-clock sound effect and seeing those iconic shoes, gamers realised it was a trailer for Bayonetta 3. After eight long years, fans will get the chance to take control over everybody's wisecracking demon-killing witch.
