10 Awesome Video Games With AWFUL Titles

8. Tactics Ogre: Let Us Cling Together

There’s a few things wrong with this one, to be honest. Tactics Ogre on its own is a little bit rubbish, but nowhere near enough to make this list. That subtitle though? Yeesh.

Let’s Cling Together feels a lot more like a tagline than it does a subtitle, but with the clunky correct yet hideously out of place grammar for Let Us, it’s just creepy. It sounds like the sort of thing an AI might say before it tries to assimilate you, The Thing style.

As a Japanese game, it’s clearly an example of some translation that’s gone wrong, being translated to the letter rather in a way which actually makes sense. When the PSP port came out, 12 years after the original release, it was renamed Wheel Of Fate, which just fits so much better.

Tactics Ogre itself is a turn based strategy game, in the style of Fire Emblem Heroes, Final Fantasy, XCOM and Civilisation, and isn't the only series of its ilk to make the list here.

It perhaps hasn’t enjoyed the longevity of the others, but back in the 90s it was a great example of the genre... even if it had a stupid name.
