7. The Bigs

The Bigs was exactly as its name implied, an absolutely over the top, arcade-style baseball game, and it aimed to big league every single other baseball game out on the market.
Back in 2007 when The Bigs was released, arcade style baseball had already been done. What The Bigs set out to do however, was put out a game that had that over the top action while at its roots still being a baseball game. Where other games took the absurdness and ran with it, The Bigs took what was true to baseball and just juiced it up a little bit.
One of the game modes that absolutely bled the arcade feel was Home Run Pinball. It had you standing in the middle of Times Square and blasting home run after home run into the many neon signs and TVs around. The more damage you caused, the more points you received. Not everything was about destruction however, the Rookie Challenge mode had you taking a rookie from the minors all the way to the bigs. It was your tried and true "started from the bottom" story, and it featured solid baseball gameplay while also allowing you to jump 16 feet in the air to rob a home run.
