10 Best First-Person Shooters Of All Time

As soon as Halo 3 starts up the music lets players know that they are in for a truly epic experience. Ethereal choir music aside this title was a game-changer. While the game did not necessarily introduce groundbreaking mechanics, it combined the best elements of multiple genres to create something truly unique.

In terms of story, Halo 3 concludes an action-packed trilogy with even more adventure, as you take down giant Scarab's and shoot through the Horde at a rapid pace. It also neatly finished the story of Master Chief although the character would return in sequels that seemed to lack the same impact as the original trilogy. Yet, online this game took on a new life.

The ability to create your own map, play with friends online and offline, and design your own matches through a huge selection of customisable options was an incredible achievement. In fact not many games have managed to recreate this freedom and as a result feel restrictive in comparison. The online gameplay of Halo 3 is still a benchmark for quality 13 years later and one that is rarely met.

Fortunately, the Master Chief Collection allows players to revisit this title in its remastered glory, but nothing quite compares to the epic spectacle that literally shook people when the game was first released - that and being run over by your teammate in a warthog when they were trying to pick you up.

Whether its Nic Cage films or any game that's easy to pick up it's my kind of entertainment.
