10 Best Indie Games Of 2015

5. Broforce

Broforce Review "3, 2, 1, GO, GO, GO!!!" screams the axle grinder-voiced colonel as you get thrown down into a fully-destructible 2D warzone. That super-butch voice sums up the spirit of Broforce - an irreverent homage to all the greatest, cheesiest action movies of the 80s and 90s, in which you control a 'Bro' version of your favourite action heroes from this period (Brominator, Rambro, Brommando etc). Each hero has distinctive animations and weapons, forcing you to reassess your strategy each time you die or unlock a new hero. There is no character selection here, so be prepared to get thrown out of your comfort zone as you switch from playing as the time-bending Time Bro or sniper-rifling Snake Broskin to dynamite kid BroGyver or hapless sword-wielding lump, Bronan the Brobarian. The main campaign takes you through warzones all around the world, and even ventures into alien-infested bases (filled with xenomorphs from the Alien movies) and hell itself. Beyond the main campaign, there are plenty of other game modes, including a vs. arena and a level creator, offering pretty much endless possibilities. Blasting through the main campaign with up to three buddies is the best way to enjoy this Bro-some experience.
