The next best thing to Goldeneye for the N64, EA obviously decided the blocky look of third-person Bond didn't make for the best followup to something that defined a generation's worth of childhoods, instead electing to return to first-person blasting where Nintendo's once again stood out as the version of choice. Why? Because of an exclusive multiplayer mode that to this day makes zero sense as to why it wasn't on the other consoles. Many gamers wouldn't feel the sweet taste of split-screen victory until the likes of Medal of Honor, Halo or - whisper it - Call of Duty, but for any who missed out on Goldeneye's biggest hook, it was all but replicated here for another go round. As will become increasingly apparent with this list, Bond is very much an EA franchise despite Rare's debut home-run, but the former's movie games of yesteryear were fans-first forays into exactly what boxes to tick to make sure they got maximum sales alongside generally positive cultural reception. It's a shame you can't say the same about EA today, but for that early run of games that found their feet alongside the industry itself, they're a pretty slick mix of nostalgia and innovation in retrospect.
