10 Best Overwatch Characters - Ranked

Backstory: Whilst there isn’t a lot of non surface-level backstory in Overwatch (yet), Jesse McRee is certainly a little more fleshed out than certain other characters. He’s not the most intriguing character, but he’s still more than interesting enough that plenty of players adore him. 7/10

Abilties: McRee’s skill-set is simple, but using it is anything but. It takes a lot of practice to take full advantage of his abilities, and getting to grips with his gun-slinging is a very rewarding experience. He can either fire single bullets or quickly fan the hammer to let loose all of his rounds at once. He’s got a combat roll too, which also reloads his gun, and a non-lethal flashbang that temporarily stuns enemies caught in it. Lastly, McRee has the coolest ult in game: “Deadeye”, allowing you to get a instant quick-draw kill on anyone within your direct line of sight, and there’s even a tumbleweed that rolls across when you use it. Just like his belt buckle, you really feel like a “BAMF” when using it. 10/10

Design: There’s not really anything too wacky you can do with the concept of a cowboy. He looks like one, albeit a futuristic one, so he succeeds in this regard if naught else. His skins aren’t that exciting, and a particular bright yellow one is a little bit of an eyesore. There’s certainly room for improvement, but he’s got a really solid foundation. 7/10
