10 Best Post-Apocalyptic Games To Play Until Fallout 4 Arrives

4. Everybody's Gone To The Rapture

Ok, let's all take a breather for a moment, because all this nuclear waste and dirt and mutation is getting a bit depressing. What about an apocalypse where the world is fine - absolutely beautiful in fact - but in which all the people on Earth just disappear one day? That's the premise of PS4-exclusive Everybody's Gone to the Rapture, a first-person exploration game (sorry, no guns here) in which you wander around an idyllic rural village in Shropshire, England, trying to figure out where everyone's gone to (though the title obviously gives that away). Rapture is a slow-paced, meditative game in which you interact with inanimate objects and listen in on the conversations of people who've disappeared by means of ethereal lights that you encounter around the village. Where the game thrives is in atmosphere, with a beautiful soundtrack and stunning locations, evoking both sadness for the end of the world and also a nostalgia for the British countryside. Similarity to Fallout 4: Well, there's the first-person perspective, the apocalyptic scenario and... not much else, but it's brilliant.
