10 Best Post-Apocalyptic Games To Play Until Fallout 4 Arrives

3. The Last Of Us: Remastered

With the small amount of time left before Fallout 4 lands and consumes every waking moment of your life, maybe a condensed yet extremely rewarding post-apocalyptic story is just what you need. There€™s no better game to do this with than The Last of Us: Remastered. And no, this isn't yet another zombie-survival game - cannibalistic, deformed ex-humans who€™ve been infected by an aggressive fungus do not count as zombies. The Last of Us is a masterpiece of video game storytelling, following Joel (washed-out Nathan Drake) and Ellie (not Ellen Page) across a ruined America with the aim of finding a cure for the fungal virus. Its pacing is sublime, with Naughty Dog using all the tricks they learned in the Uncharted series and putting them to more hard-hitting, emotionally weighty effect. Similarity to Fallout 4: Based on past form, it€™s hard to imagine Fallout 4€™s main story matching what€™s arguably one of the best video game plots of all time. But that won€™t be the game€™s aim, and it€™s equally likely that the majority of people will spend much more time with Fallout 4 than they will with The Last of Us overall.. One is a vast, sprawling vision of post-apocalyptic America where you craft your own story, the other is an intimate portrait of two peoples€™ quest for survival. Really, you need them both in your life.
