The fact that a remaster of a PS3 title tops out this list is more of a testament to the brilliance of Naughty Dog's masterpiece, rather than a slight on the PlayStation 4's library of games. The Last of Us is one of the best games ever made, and the PlayStation 4 remastered version is the best way to play it. The narrative of The Last of Us has drawn a lot of critical acclaim, although it's more in the storytelling rather than the content that the game excels. Naughty Dog uses every trick in the book to get us invested in Joel and Ellie's tale, making for many moments that range from truly joyous to absolutely heart-breaking. The Last of Us is completely satisfying from start to finish, from the snappy gameplay to the breathtaking visual design.
