It's starting to look like we're entering another golden age of survival horror games. After years of average, action-focused 'horror' titles, 2013 came along and brought players The Last of Us, Amnesia: A Machine for Pigs, and Outlast. Outlast is essentially REC: The Video Game, putting players behind an infrared camera lens in increasingly unnerving environments. Developers Red Barrels understand that horror games are only scary as long as you fear your enemies, with most of the time spent either hastily running away or hiding and praying. By far the most terrifying game of the year, the recently announced Silent Hills will have its work cut out in trying to beat Outlast's numerous, memorably scares. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F80Wv66GYSs
