10 Best-Selling Xbox 360 Games Ever

8. Grand Theft Auto IV - 10.74 Million Units

Just like GTA: Vice City and GTA: San Andreas had done for the Xbox and the PS2, GTA IV helped define and shape a console generation when it was released, its influence no doubt proven through an impressive 10.74 million units sold worldwide. The figures are even more impressive when you consider that GTA was not a console exclusive - it also sold incredibly well on the PS3, while obviously Halo 4 and Halo: Reach were exclusive to the Xbox 360. By March, 2011, Rockstar claimed they had sold 20 million units of GTA IV. Within 24 hours of release, GTA sold over 3.6 million copies which equals about about $310 million in first-day revenue. These figures expanded to 6 million copies in the first week and 6 million total copies sold. It broke three Guinness world records with its impressive selling speed; highest grossing video game in 24 hours, highest revenue earned by a video game in 24 hours and overall fastest-selling video game in 24 hours. While that's certainly an accomplishment, these records would later be broken by several other games on this list.
