10 Best Video Game Soundtracks Of 2016

5. ABZÛ

ABZÛ is an adventure game developed by Giant Squid Studios, founded by Matt Nava, the art director of the terrific games Flower and Journey. When he finished Journey, Nava wanted to create a game that was full of life, a far cry from the lonely, melancholic world of Journey.

While the player explores the ocean, they're guided by Austin Wintory's absolutely gorgeous score. Wintory has worked on all sorts of projects over the years, including Assassin's Creed Syndicate, The Order: 1886 and Journey.

ABZÛ's music is fully orchestrated, incorporating a diverse range of instrumentation, from breathtaking strings to deep, flowing horns. Everything about Wintory's soundtrack evokes the ocean: from its peculiar, otherworldly beauty to its stunning array of unique life.
