10 Best Video Game Soundtracks Of 2016

2. Pokémon Sun & Moon

Pokemon music has come a long way in the years since the series first debuted. And with Sun and Moon being set in the brand new Alola region - a tropical island similar to somewhere like Hawaii - the music is even more varied from all that's come before.

What's fantastic about the music is how layered it is. Tracks like the Guardian Deities battle music are dense and complex, featuring everything from pulsating electronic beats to electric guitar to eerie, tribal vocals. Honestly, it's quite unlike any music the series has ever seen.

And that's just one track. The games are absolutely bursting with brilliant music. When the official soundtrack released in November 2016, it had to be put out on four discs.

Impressive!
