Whether it's through his book-based adventures or his appearances on both the big and small screen, Sherlock Holmes is arguably the most famous English fictional character ever invented. From his dry wit to incredible ability to solve even the most unsolvable of mysteries, Arthur Conan Doyle's most famous character has endeared himself to millions of people for well over a century now.

Sherlock Holmes: Crimes and Punishments was not the first title to let players don the deerstalker and walk the streets of Victorian London, but it was a real game-changer for the series when it was released back in 2014.

Crimes and Punishments is split up into six sinister cases of murders, thefts and disappearances modelled in the same manor Conan Doyle used to produce that players will have to investigate and solve.

What makes the game stand out from those that came before it however is the introduction of a fleshed-out moral choice feature. As the name of the game itself will indicate, once players have flexed their deduction and reasoning skills by solving the cases in front of them, they will be then tasked with deciding what should be done with the parties involved.

Some of these choices can be pretty tricky to decide on, with many of them reflecting the cultural issues prevalent in British society at the time, lending the game with a nice amount of depth for players to enjoy.
