10 Best Video Games Set In England
6. Gray Matter
Perhaps the only game in the world to be set in Oxford, Gray Matter is a point and click adventure developed by Wizarbox. Released back in November 2010 for Germany and Spain and early 2011 for the rest of the world, the game revolves around a girl named Sam stumbling across the stately Dread Hill manor, a strange mansion housing the research and experiments conducted by Dr. David Styles.
Both Sam and Styles are playable in Gray Matter, and the game features plenty of fantastical elements which help make Dread Hill all the more exciting to explore through.
Of course a point and click game is nothing without its puzzles, and Gray Matter has some of the most engaging ones released over the past decade or so. As a magician, Sam will often throw her assortment of tricks to help work through the plethora of word scrambles, riddles, mazes and puzzles littered across the manor.
A devilishly difficult series of challenges set on the grounds of a grand English manor is the perfect coupling for a truly memorable gaming experience.
