10 Best Xbox One Games Of 2018
5. Deep Rock Galactic
Have you ever wanted a multiplayer experience that's a mix of No Man's Sky and Left 4 Dead? Deep Rock Galactic is the hybrid of those two titles, mixing procedurally-generated caves and class-based shooting action with 1-3 friends. You'll take on spider-like creatures while controlling dwarves sent to mine valuable minerals on a hostile alien planet.
Made available through Xbox Preview, this shooter gave players multiplayer fun before Sea Of Thieves released, albeit with less pirating (but far more action). You get to pick from four separate classes, ranging from an Engineer that has a platform-shooting gun to the flamethrower-wielding Driller. Since the map never repeats itself, you don't know which particular loadout is needed. DRG promotes experimenting and group balance so that you're never caught too unprepared.
It's unpredictable and offers something unlike anything on the platform right now. While the likes of Sea Of Thieves is dauntingly-open, Deep Rock is in an intimate setting where the danger could come at any moment. Xbox players, don't allow the 'Preview' tag indicate this title's entertainment value. Deep Rock will only continue to grow, so hop on in and start mining.
