6. Intel Pulling Advertising From Gamasutra
One of the missions of GamerGate was humorously dubbed Operation: Disrespectful Nod. The plan was to rally all gamers to politely email advertisers that advertised on the sites that slandered gamers. The sentiment behind this was that the advertisers would most likely not want to be affiliated with websites that antagonised gamers, and needed to be informed about the recent articles. Intel heard GamerGates plea and have since retracted advertising from Gamasutra.com. This was then followed by a wave of thank-you emails and tweets from pro-GG supporters. Considering gamers are one of Intels biggest consumers, its not surprising why they wisely took down their advertising. The morale boost from this event further propelled GamerGate.
