10 Biggest Video Game Botches Of 2021

5. Rainbow Six Extraction's No-Show

The video game community has been waiting for a sequel to Ubisoft's Rainbow Six Siege since 2015 and, sadly for those fans of the series, 2021 was a tale of more frustrating delays.

The game was initially announced for a 2020 holiday release, under the title: 'Rainbow Six Quarantine'. However, the global pandemic naturally left Ubisoft in a bit of a race to avoid a backlash, and quickly changed the name to 'Rainbow Six Extraction'.

This awkward title could have been overlooked by the community as just an unfortunate case of circumstance, but the game was once again thrown in the shade as 2020 rolled into 2021 and the game was pushed back time and time again. The game was only rolled out for the first time this year in July at E3 2021, where it was announced that it would be released in September, but Ubisoft delayed it again just a month later to January 2022, over a year on from its first initial planned release day.

For fans of the Rainbow series, 2021 was one seriously botched rollercoaster ride, and it's anyone's guess whether the new release date is even going to be one Ubisoft are able to stick to.
