10 Biggest Video Game Controversies Of 2019 (So Far)
5. Stadia Only Disappoints
Google Stadia advertised itself as the next big thing, but it doesn't seem to be shaping up that way.
Priming itself as the new streaming service for games, Stadia promises a lot of things. Connectivity between devices, instant playing and a whole library of games at your fingertips.
It just doesn't seem to deliver on any of them yet.
Playable demos of the Stadia have done nothing to impress majorly, with games running at a laggy pace and not really offering anything we haven't seen on consoles or PC.
The only thing that makes Stadia worthwhile is playing anywhere on any device, but the data needed to run a game is obscene.
Stadia also runs on a subscription service that also has you paying for your games separately. For something that's supposed to be much more convenient, it's going to work out as a whole lot more expensive.
To be fair, if anyone's going to able to do it eventually, it'll probably be Google. It just doesn't quite seem like the technology is there.
