6. Sniper Ghost Warrior 3
Are they seriously still making Sniper games? That was the reaction of many people upon seeing the release of Sniper: Ghost Warrior 3. Sales and critical reception echoed this, with the game doing about as well as you'd expect.
The best thing to say about Sniper: Ghost Warrior 3 is that it's about as good as the other two titles in the series. This isn't high praise, because they're both also pretty mediocre.
Ghost Warrior 3 aimed to introduce a more open-world gameplay style to the franchise, something which only ended up making the problems with the game much more glaring. When the Sniper Elite franchise does everything you do but better, why even bother?
Considering the game released in the dry summer season of this year, it's surprising that it didn't manage to draw at least a little more attention to it. Sales figures show that the game simply didn't sell that much, which might indicate that the series is in decline.
At least the sniping gameplay is still fairly fun.
