10 Bizarre Video Game Achievements You Didn't See Coming

7. Cooking By The Book - Hate Plus

This one is a strong contender for the most bizarre and unexpected achievement on this whole list and the only reason it isn’t higher is that there is no way you’re accidentally popping it.

Luckily, I said nothing in my title about actually having to pop said trophies so this one gets a well deserved spot regardless.

In Hate Plus, the 2013 follow-up to Analogue: A Hate Story, you’ll explore your standard mystery visual novel beats and some not-so-standard ones including baking, cosplay, and transhumanism. Somehow, the achievement we’re talking about still makes all those features and themes seem mundane because this might be the most effort you will ever have put into trophy hunting. The Cooking By The Book achievement has unfortunately since been cracked by both a permanent unlock code and a cheating guide, but if you’re here for the original solution that’s what I’ve got for you.

On Day 3 of the in-game story your waifu will ask for a cake. So you need to make her one. Like a real one. In real life. And then send a picture of said cake to the game developer.

Naturally, checking each email and sending back a code became a little too much work for the solo dev but it’s a great idea all the same.
