10 Broken Video Games That Were Fixed YEARS Later

Few major video game releases of the last decade have invoked quite as much ire from the fanbase as Halo: The Master Chief Collection.

Originally released for Xbox One in 2014, the highly anticipated anthology of all the classic Halo games, including their multiplayer suites, suffered from major matchmaking issues right out of the gate.

As this prevented Halo fans from enjoying arguably the primary appeal of the franchise, much disdain was thrown the way of developer 343 Industries, who offered a public apology and released numerous patches to try and remedy the problems.

Despite claiming many times that the matchmaking was "fixed," players continued to encounter issues for years afterwards, until in 2018 343 finally seemed to stamp out most of the major connectivity problems once and for all.

Curiously another broken aspect of the original Halo's campaign was finally also fixed earlier this year, however.

Because every re-released version of Halo: Combat Evolved, including the one in the Master Chief Collection, is based off Gearbox's janky original 2003 port, they all contained remnants of that port, particularly countless graphical glitches.

But just a few months ago, 343 began publicly testing an update which sought to fix the visual jank and finally bring the game up to the expected standard.

For PC players who've been bemoaning the state of the original game since 2003, it's very much welcome - if embarrassingly late for all involved.
