Developer: SCE London Studio Concept: Open world crime epic set in London If you're a British gamer (or a self-discerning video game fan in general), then you've probably heard of The Getaway series. It was made up of a couple of rather excellent crime games set in the city of London, distinguishing itself from the Grand Theft Auto franchise thanks to its far more gritty, realistic approach. Thanks to the strength and cult popularity of the originals, it's easy to see why people were hyped for the third entry to hit the PlayStation 3. This was compounded by an impressive tech demo named Piccadilly Circus, which showed off an almost photorealistic interpretation of the famous London square. Sadly, in 2008, the game was confirmed as being cancelled, although it was later reported as being 'on hold' one year later.
