10 Challenges That Ruined Video Games

6. Mega Man 9 - The Whole Game On One Life

If you thought the Limbo one earlier sounded tough, a little series from Capcom would like to nudge its way in. Mega Man 9, technically the tenth game, was a return to the series' roots laid out in its NES days decades prior.

And by roots, I mean, "Still harder than a stale baguette left in the freezer for a few years".

Completing an 'old school' Mega Man game is hard enough, but the real cherry on the cake with this game is the Invincible challenge. That's right, the entire game from start to finish without dying.

There are some ways around it, relying on the use of save manipulation and the like. It's a knife's edge though, as there's no way of telling if it has been done correctly or not.

However, the last area, Dr. Wily's castle, cannot be manipulated as such. So, save scum away, but it could all be completely wasted by the time players get to the last level.

There are so many hours in the day, and the thought of wasting them at the eleventh hour to see Mega Man pop his robo-clogs seems like an infuriating waste.
