10 Challenging Video Games That Are Endlessly Rewarding

3. Metroid Prime

Monster Hunter

Metroid Prime is a perfect platforming experience, creating enough challenge to motivate the player without overwhelming them with countless objectives and enemies. The game – a first-person adventure, merging exploration and shooting together in order to create a remarkably unique style of gameplay – rewards the player with power-ups, allowing them to explore previously restricted areas of the map, creating a nice sense of progression.

Throughout the game, Samus acquires these power-ups by defeating certain enemies – allowing players to solve puzzles and advance through the game – but also giving them a unique advantage in combat, especially against particular enemies. In this respect, the player is motivated to explore, overcome and progress through the larger environment, because each discovery gives the player a distinct advantage.

This – more so perhaps than anything is – creates an endlessly rewarding experience, the player constantly improving themselves with each successive victory.
