10 Classic Games Missing From The Sega Mega Drive Mini
6. Disney's Aladdin
Yeah, probably licensing stopping this one, right? But if that's the case, how are two of Disney's games on the system with both Castle of Illusion and World of Illusion being included? Let's not forget that these star both Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck, who are just a bit Disney.
Maybe Sega's coffers could only stretch so far to get Disney to release a couple of games for their new system? Maybe some travesty of justice happened and Aladdin was never even considered.
If you played licensed games throughout the PS2 era and beyond, you'll probably know they were - to be kind - a bit of a mixed bag. However, if you played them in the Mega Drive era, there's some absolute gems out there. One of these is Disney's Aladdin.
This one is a side-scroller where you take Aladdin through the events of the film. It's beautifully made, with a stunning hand-drawn art style, fluid animations and a whole lot of character. It also includes catchy versions of Aladdin's soundtrack re-scored for the Mega Drive, and you'll find yourself humming them long after you're done with a level.
Aladdin was so good, it was even awarded the best game of 1993 by Electronic Gaming Monthly, and received a slew of high-scoring reviews upon release.
