10 Classic Games Missing From The Sega Mega Drive Mini

5. Kid Chameleon

Rocket Knight Adventure

If there's anything more '90s than Pogs, Tamagotchis and huddling around the telly box on a Saturday afternoon to watch Gladiators, it's Kid Chameleon.

The game's title screen was so memorable - it showed an edgy young man with sunglasses and leather jacket smashing open a box, only to turn into a flippin' samurai!

That was the concept of Kid Chameleon: as the 'kid', you traverse 2D side-scrolling levels which contain powerup boxes. Hitting one of these will reveal a 'chameleon' form, where the kid can transform his appearance and moveset to better traverse a level's dangers.

There are a staggering 103 levels in Kid Chameleon. Not all of them are on the main path either, and there's no save system to fall back on!

Despite its length and difficulty at times, it remains a cult classic which is a strange omission from the Mega Drive Mini. It has previously appeared in re-releases of Sega Mega Drive game packs, so it's definitely a weird one to be chopped out.
