10 Classic Nintendo Games That NEED Switch Remakes
3. Super Metroid
Metroid Prime 4 is coming to the Switch soon, but fans are still a little on the fence about the whole thing. On one hand, the Switch is yet to put a foot wrong on any major release, especially where the Nintendo old guard are concerned. But on the other, Samus Aran’s stock isn’t as high as Mario’s, Link’s or Pikachu’s anymore.
There’s definitely been some below par offerings as the franchise struggled to find itself in the 3D world, but hopefully the Switch is the thing to get it back on track. There seems to be a real focus on invention, creativity and fun with the Switch’s model; a far cry from the cash the chips and run approach some other huge game publishers have been accused of.
Samus is fantastic in Smash Ultimate, both in her regular appearance and Zero Suit, with the character herself still iconic. The Metroid inspired arenas in Smash were, like so many Smash arenas, a serious nostalgia trip too.
Here’s hoping Metroid Prime 4 is Samus’ Breath Of The Wild. If all else fails though, a lovingly remade Super Metroid remake can still swoop in and save the series.
