10 Companies Who Made Their Name With Shoddy Licensed Games

High Voltage are perhaps the newest name on this list, but that doesn't mean the company should get a free pass. The developer has recently come to prominence thanks to its work on DLC for Saints Row IV across most of the major platforms. However, its main claim to fame is developing the most recent Mortal Kombat title.

Having been brought in to port the re-booted Mortal Kombat onto PCs, the group was handed the development duties for the next installment across the PS3 and 360 as well. That's some pretty high profile franchises, though they appear to have dropped the ball somewhat with the PC version of MKX judging by recent reviews.

The company hasn't always been involved with such well-known properties though...

The Worst Game - The Nintendo Wii had an enormous amount of shovelware, with developers leaping on the bandwagon when the console gained traction, only to release horrendously unplayable games that only served to damage the console's reputation. Amongst the worst of these games was High Voltage's Rudolph The Red-Nosed Reindeer, based on the TV special of the story. Rudolph's story isn't exactly prime material for a videogame and the company proved this by creating an awful collection of mini-games that could be blown through in about 15 minutes.

The worst of it was that the game was a full release rather than a downloadable.
