As Call of Duty is one of the most popular competitive multiplayer shooters across all platforms, and as such you€™d probably be hard pressed to find a young person who hasn€™t played at least one of them. Though, if you€™re a parent who distrusts video games or just doesn€™t understand them, this must be a hard pill to swallow, especially because its very easy for anyone to spend hours on them - and let€™s face it, they don€™t exactly foster positive social skills.

It€™s practically common knowledge now that Call of Duty has taken on a certain kind of negative stigma. It€™s often associated with immature 12 year-old boys trash-talking and insulting each other, alongside the ugliness that comes with that. That€™s not to say that there aren€™t plenty of well-mannered COD players, but it€™s no secret that its ease of access has placed the series in the hands of those who haven't fully matured socially.

For this reason, many parents don€™t want their kids playing Call of Duty whatsoever. Any fear that comes with communicating with the outside world through the internet is exemplified - or their child could mutate into an obnoxious troll - and no parent wants that...
