10 Crazy Facts You Just Have To Accept To Enjoy The Xbox One

10. Get Used To Talking To Yourself

When the voice control of the Xbox One was first unveiled it felt like another step towards the glorious future of user interfaces that we saw in Minority Report. Which is pretty much the only part of Minority Report we want to come true, since the rest of that film was pretty flippin' dystopian. In reality, however, it's kind of...weird. Instead of just pressing a button on the console or the remote you could sit on your sofa and command that your Xbox turn on, which did save us those long trips from the sofa to the TV and back again - we definitely appreciate that - but it's also a bit like you're talking to yourself whenever you use the voice commands on your own. It makes us feel a bit like crazy people. Plus there's that pretty hilarious but also infuriating prank that's currently plaguing online gaming where people give themselves usernames like "Xbox Quit" and then act like douches during Call Of Duty so that, when you call out their name in anger and desperation, your Xbox does exactly as instructed. It quits the game. That's pretty infuriating. All weird little quirks of the Xbox One and yet, also, one of those idiosyncratic charms that make it feel less like a direct competitor to the Playstation 4 and more like a magical space box from the future. That you talk to. And feel kinda silly talking to.
