10 Crazy Facts You Just Have To Accept To Enjoy The Xbox One

7. The Halo TV Show Won't Be Terrible

We've already made mention of it, but the Xbox One is really going full speed ahead with the evolution from a gaming console to an all-in-one entertainment station. Not only can you play all the latest blockbuster titles, but you can also run your TV cables through the console and watch your favourite shows, download music and films, and use streaming services like Netflix and Amazon Prime Video (not to mention on demand programs like 4OD and BBC iPlayer). Microsoft don't just want to dominate your gaming experience, they want each and every one of your leisure activities to be filtered through them. So now they're making them too. For yonks they've been going on about making a Halo movie - for a while the project was being produced by Peter Jackson and directed by District 9 mastermind Neil Blomkamp - but the big-screen adaptation of their flagship sci-fi first-person shooter never came to anything. Now finally it looks like a live-action Master Chief might finally see the light of day as Microsoft go about making the damn thing themselves, this time as a TV show that will air exclusively on the Xbox One. And if they manage to pull it off it'll be totally groundbreaking because it will be the first successful adaptation of a video game in history, after decades of total turkeys from Mario Bros all the way up until the countless Resident Evil sequels. We live in hope!
