Immediate clarification: this entry refers to the “mini-boss” featured in the Sacred Grove area from Twilight Princess (2006), not the flute-playing tricksters from Ocarina nor the tragic antagonist from the unforgettable Majora’s Mask.

Acting as a guide/foe that Link must overcome in order to get the mighty Master Sword, the Skull Kid from Twilight Princess possesses the eerie ability to summon a troop of wooden puppets that will put the hero’s courage to the test before acquiring his main weapon.

Always loyal to the playful and mischievous nature of his character, the Skull Kid proposes a challenge before delivering the goods. A game of Hide-and-Seek with hellish visuals and creepy automatons that will leave a lasting and sinister impression in the hero’s mind as the game carries on.

After you defeat the mysterious kid, he does his usual thing and vanishes in thin air. However, if you visit the Sacred Grove on a different moment of your quest, you’ll be able to see the Skull Kid’s lantern in the distance, but it will disappear as soon as you approach it. Prepare yourself for some Legend of Zelda PTSD with this one.

Those puppets, man, now I see them everywhere!
