5. Dinner, Dinner, Dinner

From the same development team behind the Star Ocean series, Infinite Undiscovery is a lesser-known JRPG that launched on the Xbox 360 in 2008. In it, players take on the role of Capell, a musician who's unexpectedly thrust into a quest to save the world after he's mistaken for a legendary hero.

Despite its intriguing premise, this title was met with an underwhelming critical reception due to its lacklustre gameplay. However, one particular section stood out for the wrong reasons.

The infamous moment occurs after the party rescues a small boy from a group of monsters. Upon safely returning the child to his worried sister, twins Rico and Rucha then arrive to invite the heroes to dinner as repayment for their deeds. Events take a bizarre turn when the siblings dance off-screen singing "Dinner, dinner, dinner", with Capell joining in these peculiar antics.

The twins' stiff animation and stilted dialogue made the scene awkward enough, but it was the abrupt tonal shift that truly unsettled players. The game turned from a serious JRPG into something reminiscent of Deadly Premonition within the space of a few seconds, leaving many staring at the screen wishing for the cringe to end soon.
