10 Crucial Questions We Have For 2017's Remaining Video Games

8. Was South Park: The Fractured But Whole Delayed For Any Noticeable Reason?

One of the most unique projects on the horizon thanks to being assembled with the sort of reactionary comedy associated with its TV component, South Park's Fractured But Whole has seen a number of delays, emerging (hopefully) later this year.

Initially pegged for December 2016, it's clear from the various statements made about The Stick of Truth's development that Trey Parker and Matt Stone like to write contemporary comedy that thrives in the moment. South Park itself has a turnaround of six days from concept to final product, meaning the belaboured multi year-long coding process of gaming threw a spanner in the works of Comedy Central's finest.

As such, Fractured But Whole has most likely seen multiple rewrites and joke-swaps to keep it relevant, all the while affecting development of areas, characters and pacing of the overall story. THEN you have the reality of it being Ubisoft collaborating with the pair, rather than Obsidian, and you can see why this has taken so long.

Quite the messy recipe, but one that could result in something worthwhile in the end?
