10 Cruel Tricks Horror Video Games Played On Players
1. Lisa Is ALWAYS Behind You - P.T.
Believe it or not, it's been a whole eight years since Hideo Kojima's mesmerising horror experience P.T. was released on the PlayStation Store as a teaser for his ultimately shuttered Silent Hills project.
P.T. remains one of the most unnerving and expertly crafted horror games of the last decade, if not all time, in large part because Kojima so inventively makes the player feel like they're always being watched.
While skulking around the focal haunted house, players will be periodically assailed by a ghost by the name of Lisa.
The game gives the impression that Lisa is ever-present, with the player often hearing her voice or seeing her shadow, only to turn around and find nothing.
Yet back in 2019, popular games hacker Lance McDonald dug into P.T.'s code and discovered that Lisa is actually programmed to attach herself to the player once they pick up the flashlight.
From that point, she's effectively tethered to the player's back, floating above them at all times and following them wherever they go. And so, that feeling of being constantly watched is far more literal than anyone realised back in 2014.
