Now, while I actually applaud Vault-Tec investing in the arts with Vault 92 by inviting the world’s most impressive creatives to live out the apocalypse in a residence replete with talent, you’ve probably gathered this one didn’t end with masterworks and symphonies. Nor was it intended to. The vault was peppered with white noise generators which conveyed subliminal messages to the inhabitants in the hope they’d grow into obedient and aggressive super-soldiers.

Well, the aggressive part certainly worked but you could argue it worked a little too well as one resident grew wildly violent, tearing three people limb from limb and taking 23 bullets before he was brought down.

Half the Vault’s population followed suit and got super murdery. The Overseer was initially stoked, but now all that’s left for you to find when you come across it in Fallout 3 is a few crazed musicians and mirelurks. Honestly, one of the darkest things about this vault, apart from the whole subconscious mind-control bit, is that it would have been a great idea to preserve the world’s greatest artistic talents and as it happened it was just a huge waste.
