10 Darkest Vaults In Fallout History

9. Vault 112

Fallout Vault 112

Another location featured in Fallout 3, 112 is also a vault that sounds really great for the first sentence I’ll spend describing it.

The plan, or rather, the pitch sold to unsuspecting inhabitants, was that the Vault would be fitted with virtual reality pods that would transport its residents to a digital utopia until it came time to leave the vault. Again I’ll use the word ‘unfortunately’, because the Overseer Stanislaus Braun was kind of a dick and decided to play megalomaniacal god to the Vault’s 85 inhabitants. Assuming the role of a little girl called Betty, which is already creepy enough, the Overseer would kill his residents off in VR in various ways. Through this, Braun psychologically tortured his residents, systematically wiping out worlds along with people’s memories, and booting up new virtual hellscapes. When you reach the vault you’re able to kill off the dwellers to save them from the perpetual cycle of Braun’s games and even trap Braun in his own simulations and doom him to be forever alone. Sounds fair.
