10 Dead Video Game Franchises That Need To Return
1. Prototype
Prototype was an open world, action adventure game which saw players taking control of a shapeshifter called Alex Mercer.
Free-roaming around Manhattan, the game revolved around piecing together the lost memory of Alex, coming into conflict with the military and mysterious organisation known as Blackwatch.
The abilities Mercer could employ included absorbing enemies to regain health, morphing his arms into blade like appendages and extremely high jumps with the ability to scale buildings. The game was a success, which led to developer Radical Entertainment creating a sequel, Prototype 2.
The sequel followed a new protagonist, James Heller and tasked players with hunting down the main character of the original game, Alex Mercer. The game featured many of the same abilities from the first entry as well as some next ones including tendrils used to throw objects scattered around the open world. The game underperformed in terms of sales and ultimately led to the developer being downsized.
Open world games are more popular than ever and a future entry in the Prototype series could benefit from next generation consoles with a larger open world, better graphics and no loading times.
