10 DEADLIEST Dark Souls Sorceries
7. Soul Greatsword
Now here's where sorcery gets really fun. If you're running a pure magic build, i.e. one that prioritises spells over physical weapons, you're going to want something that doles out the pain while simultaneously looking like it really hurts. That's where Soul Greatsword comes in.
As its name suggests, the spell involves a magically summoned greatsword, specifically the legendary Moonlight Greatsword forged from the tail of Seath the Scaleless. After forming, the sword is swung outwards in a wide sweeping horizontal arc, which can cause some pretty impressive damage to anything caught in its generous hitbox.
The sorcery was first introduced in Dark Souls 2, and thankfully made a reappearance in the next game. With so many sorceries revolving around ranged combat, Soul Greatsword's physical striking motion is a very refreshing change, and also offers those struggling to warm to their mage build a kind of intermediary playstyle, capturing the best of both combat approaches.
