10 Deeply Disturbing Tales Of HAUNTED Video Games
4. Ben Drowned - Legend Of Zelda: Majora's Mask
The Legend Of Zelda has enough content in its games to keep people up at night (seriously, those half-man-half-Skulltulas are nightmare fuel), but this urban myth about a boy called Ben is without a doubt the scariest thing associated with the Zelda series. The story follows a boy who buys a second hand Legend Of Zelda: Majora's Mask copy from an old man saying the person it belonged to sadly drowned.
After inserting it into his Nintendo (and no doubt blowing on the cartridge a bunch), he found there was already a saved file from someone called Ben. The boy opened a different file and started to play. In the game, the characters would refer to him as Ben, so he decided to delete the main file in hopes it would reboot the system. After doing that, the game started to malfunction by sending the player messages such as "You shouldn't have done that." and "You've met with a terrible fate haven't you."
To make things worse, the boy would be continuously stalked and followed by a statue, and the NPCs would only focus on looking at the screen, as if they were watching the boy.
