The popularity of the trilogy of Grand Theft Auto games across the sixth generation consoles can't be understated. Grand Theft Auto 3, Grand Theft Auto Vice City, and Grand Theft Auto San Andreas were all smash hits upon release and revolutionised the third person shooter sandbox genre.

After much speculation, in August 2021 the game fans had long awaited was announced. This title would contain modern high definition remasters of the sixth generation Grand Theft Auto trilogy for modern consoles.

The release of the dream trilogy however quickly turned into a nightmare.

Upon release, the launcher for the games on PC was down a whole 28 hours. Console users didn't fare much better, as they soon realised what should be a loving remaster was instead a slapped together lesser version of classic games.

As well as featuring numerous glitches, the games also included several typos on signs, with famous locations markedly different from how they were in the originals. The rain in the game was also so thick, it meant you could barely see your character or the environment. Because of this, Youtube was flooded with videos full of nightmarish glitches in this sorry excuse of a video game.

As a result the game went on to massively damage Rockstar's reputation and their usually high standards for releasing content.
