Much like Agent 47, one of the key elements of Solid Snake is the character's voice, and with Jon Bernthal's gravelly, growling tones, he would make for a great David Hayter substitute.
Alongside this, artist BossLogic has once again provided a glimpse as to how the actor may look if he were cast in the role - and, as you have probably already concluded, he looks fantastic.
In regards to his action or thriller movie/TV pedigree, Bernthal also has that more than covered - having played the darn Punisher, a zombie-battling police officer in The Walking Dead and a spec ops soldier in the Ghost Recon games - just to name a few.
Really, if Jordan Vogt-Roberts ever gets around to making that Metal Gear Solid movie, then Bernthal should be the first actor he calls.
