The Outlander is the name of the player's main character in Star Wars: The Old Republic's expansion, Knights of The Fallen Empire.
In the DLC, the Outlander awakes years after the war between the Republic and the Empire and discovers that the entire galaxy has been conquered by a mysterious foreign superpower called the Eternal Empire. Regardless of your past affiliation, your goal is to destroy this new threat.
Now, like the rest of the game, Knights of The Fallen Empire provides you with choices that range from good to evil, but it spices things up by making them more impactful.
Depending on how good or how evil you are, different characters may live or die, and other important plot points may lead to unique outcomes.
Funnily enough, the consequences of being evil end up causing more good than harm for the galaxy!
You see, after you destroy the Eternal Empire, you get to choose between turning your assembled forces into unbiased protectors of the galaxy or ascending to the throne as the new Emperor.
The latter option is considered evil, but in reality, being the villain here is actually better for everyone, as it helps prevent another war that is bound to erupt once the Eternal Empire is gone.
