Tekken's main storyline revolves around the cursed Mishima bloodline.

The clan's evil patriarch, Heihachi, acts as the main villain of the first game. His son, Kazuya, enters his Iron Fist tournament in order to kill him and take revenge for abusing Kazuya and his mother, among Heihachi's many other crimes.

The irony is that the moment Kazuya gets rid of his villainous father is what causes the young fighter to turn into an even greater menace.

Although by killing Heihachi, Kazuya liberates the world from a cruel criminal mastermind, his mother's blood has cursed him with the Demon Gene, and its innate need for domination quickly makes him follow in his dad's footsteps.

In Tekken 2, Kazuya replaces his father as the CEO of his corrupt enterprise, turning it into an even more ruthless business and using it to build an army that can help him conquer the world.

It's clear that the only reason why Kazuya had not succumbed to his evil gene before was because his hatred of his father was stronger than his will to dominate the planet.

With Heihachi gone, Kazuya had no more reasons to push his innate desires aside and could finally implant himself as the ultimate evil.

Villainy truly runs in the family for the Mishimas.
