10 Exciting 2018 Video Games Nobody Is Talking About

6. Starlink: Battle For Atlas

Games that come with some assembly required can be a hard sell. They're usually not very complex, have a considerable 'minimum' price tag attached, and never seem truly worth it. Well, while the likes of LEGO Dimensions and Disney Infinity may have been mainly for kids, Starlink: Battle For Atlas may be the perfect toys-to-life concept to bring in any kind of gamer.

Players take control of their very own ship (that they design themselves) and venture throughout the Atlas star system, visiting different planets and engaging with interesting alien colonies. You can form alliances or fight against these species, leading to significant changes in the Atlas system, as well as several variances in your personal gameplay experience. You'll have ship-based combat in both space and on planet surfaces, serving as a suitable test for your extensively-customizable ships and pilots (of which there are 4 different types for each).

On top of all that, Starlink stands out from other sci-fi games with its toys-to-life design. This allows you to customize your ship in real-time AND see your changes immediately without having to pause the action. If you're still not convinced, how about the option to play as Star Fox in a customizable Arwing with the Switch version? Is there more that needs to be said?

Starlink: Battle For Atlas releases October 16th for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and Nintendo Switch.
